The S.C. Department of Revenue recently announced that approximately 3.6 million Social Security numbers and 387,000 credit and debit card numbers have been exposed in a cyber attack. Of the credit cards, the vast majority are protected by strong encryption deemed sufficient under the demanding credit card industry standards to protect the data and cardholders. Approximately 16,000 are unencrypted.
As the SC State Library continues its book collection weeding program, the public is invited on Thursday, October 25, between 1:00pm and 4:00pm to review books to add to your personal collections. Feel free to stop by!
Friends of Libraries groups have their very own national week of celebration! ALTAFF, the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations, coordinate the seventh annual National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 21-27, 2012. The celebration offers a two-fold opportunity to celebrate Friends.
Friends of the Florence County Library System will host the third annual Books 'n Boil on Thursday, October 25th from 6-9:30pm at Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library.
