We are pleased to announce the arrival of our second Charlie Cart, CeCe, to support the Read Eat Grow initiative. Read Eat Grow aims to educate families about the importance of healthy cooking and eating, and provide programs to show them how to prepare nutritional meals. The Charlie Cart is a self-contained mobile kitchen that contains small appliances including a griddle and a convection oven, as well as measuring cups, mixing bowls, and a variety of tools.

The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce it now provides access to the ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Black Newspaper Collection. This historical newspaper collection provides genealogists, researchers, and scholars with online, easily-searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the politics, society and events of the time.

The State Centers for the Book linked by US Route 1 - extending from Fort Kent, Maine, to Key West, Florida - are joining together to promote books that illuminate important aspects of their states/commonwealths for readers traveling the major and meandering highway.

The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce that it now provides workshop attendees and South Carolina public libraries access to an FM Assistive Listening System.

South Carolina State Library staff members installed the Cecil Williams traveling photography exhibit, "Unforgettable: Celebrating a Time of Life, Hope and Bravery" at the Aiken County Historical Museum.
