Letters About Literature Winners To Be Recognized at Award Ceremony

The South Carolina Center for the Book is pleased to announce the nine winners in this year’s Letters About Literature contest.  These outstanding students will be honored at the South Carolina State Library in Columbia at an award ceremony on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Contest judges and South Carolina State Library Foundation members will be on hand to welcome attendees and present awards.

State Library Announces Summer Leadership Webinar Series

The South Carolina State Library is hosting a Summer Leadership Webinar Series featuring library trainer and consultant Pat Wagner. All webinars are Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. Register for one or for all webinars and you'll get a reminder email with login information. Archives will be available after the session—but join live online to ask questions of the presenter! These webinars are for library staff members in South Carolina who are managers and those who are interested in learning more about library leadership. 

Uncovering Privilege and Addressing Microaggressions

The South Carolina State Library has purchased access for South Carolina library staff members to the upcoming Uncovering Privilege and Addressing Microaggressions webinar offered by the American Library Association Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services. South Carolina library staff members may register online to attend this webinar at the ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy & Outreach Services registration page.
