Due to high demand, the State Library is offering another session of the 2-hour class for state employees and librarians in using the legislative research website, www.scstatehouse.gov, and other legislative materials.
 
Included in this session: how to contact legislators, using resources available at scstatehouse.gov for tracking legislation, US government web sites and resources for county and city information.

Letters from the White House

Reading Rockets, AdLit.org, and the National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance (NCBLA) have announced the Letters from the White House contest
as part of its celebration of Our White House: Looking In, Looking Out, the NCBLA's critically acclaimed publication about American history. Students in grades preK-12 students can write and submit either a letter or journal entry about an imagined or researched experience of living or working in the White House.

Legislative Resources Class Feb 10

The State Library will offer a second workshop on legislative resources on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. in the Computer Training Room of the Library.  The class is for state employees and library staff who are interested in learning about the online resources available for contacting legislators, finding legislation, laws or regulations.  Find the registration form for the class from the "Full Calendar" link on the State Library's home page (http://www.statelibrary.sc.gov).
