Governor McMaster visits John de la Howe School in McCormick County
This month Governor Henry McMaster signed a bill making the South Carolina Governor’s School for Agriculture at John de la Howe the first of its kind in the United States. The school, which sits on 1,310 acres of farmland in McCormick County, is a public residential high school for students in grades 10 through 12.
Winter Reading Program for SC Libraries
The South Carolina State Library has long supported summer reading programs as a way to promote the joy of reading for fun, connect communities, and to encourage lifelong library users. The SC State Library is also proud to support the Winter Reading Program to encourage patrons of all ages to be library users and avid readers.
Apply to host the Smithsonian exhibit "Voices and Votes"
SC Humanities is pleased to announce a special South Carolina tour of Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, an exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution that explores the democratic process: its freedoms, responsibilities, complexities, and successes. Developed as part of the Museum on Main Street (MOMS) program, this exhibit is designed especially for small cultural organizations and rural audiences that lack regular access to traveling exhibitions due to space and cost limitations.

The South Carolina Digital State Documents Depository provides access to state agencies' publications. These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state. Poetry Society Celebrates 100 Years in South Carolina
The Poetry Society of South Carolina will celebrate it's 100th anniversary in January, 2021. The Society hosts free events (downloadable PDF of January - March 2021 events), and fosters the craft of poetry by offering seminars, workshops, writers’ groups, and prizes that include cash awards and publication.
