The South Carolina State Library is dedicated to providing online access to several digital collections. The South Carolina State Documents Depository provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions. These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state.

The Southeastern Library Association is seeking nominations for its prestigious Rothrock Award to be presented at the joint 2014 Georgia Council of Media Organizations/Southeastern Library Association Conference in Athens, Georgia in October. The purpose of the award is to honor a librarian who has contributed substantially to librarianship and library development in the southeast during their career.

The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce a new organizational structure and two new deputy director positions.  Beginning July 1, Denise Lyons will assume the newly created position of Deputy Director of Statewide Development and Christopher Yates will assume the newly created position of Deputy Director of Library Resources and Services.

The South Carolina State Library’s Center for the Book will host a book talk and signing on Thursday, June 19, from noon-1:00 p.m.  Join us to hear Robert C. Clark and Tom Poland discuss their book, Reflections of South Carolina, Volume 2, a pictorial essay that showcases the natural beauty of the Palmetto State and its inhabitants.

A new website by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS), offers users a resource for information on hospitals and other health provider charges and activities.  South Carolina Health Data (schealthdata.org) was launched in January 2014 with information on profitability, expenses, and pay for top staff.
