State Library Workforce Development Trainer, Jason Broughton, shows how to use the library's new web site WorkSC.org at the Beaufort County Library. The web site was developed to help libraries and SC citizens find online resources to help them get back into the workforce. For more information visit www.WorkSC.org.

Certified Public Manager projects for 2010 are now available online.

Project reports from the recent graduates of the Certified Public Manager program are now being processed and will be available in SCLENDS, the online catalog of the State Library. The CPM report, usually an investigative report, a survey, or implementation of a new procedure, is the final requirement of the program for state employees sponsored by the Budget and Control Board.

Del Webb Library to Host Acclaimed Children's Author, Illustrator

Author and award-winning illustrator Henry Cole will share a presentation about his work followed by a book signing at the Del Webb Library on Wednesday, July 14. The Del Webb Library is the new branch of the Lancaster County Library system. It circulated over 100,000 items during 2009.

The Florida-based author, who has illustrated over 50 books, will highlight his first juvenile fiction novel, "A Nest for Celeste," in programs at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Center for the Book Awards Program Nominations Deadline Extended

The SC Center for the Book Awards Program honors excellence in writing, teaching, and advocacy of the literary arts. This year, the Center seeks nominations in these three categories:

1. Writing: SC writer of any genre whose work has been published in the last year (2009)
2. Teaching: SC teacher of the literary or language arts (at any level or type of school)
