The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website ReadSC.org. The new site has an easy-to-navigate menu bar and provides keyword searching of its website pages.
Poets and writers are invited to submit previously unpublished poetry, essays, short fiction and flash fiction to volume two of Fall Lines — a literary convergence. While the editors hope to attract the work of poets and writers from the Carolinas and the Southeastern U.S., acceptance of work is not dependent upon residence. Submissions will be accepted through March 1, 2015.

The renovation, restoration, and completion of the Union County Carnegie Library is $5,000 closer to reality thanks to the efforts of the Friends of the Library.
In a statement released Monday, Library Director Ben Loftis announced that the FOL had donated $5,000 to the Library Renovation Project which will “Renovate, Restore, and Complete” the library.
The U.S. Government Printing Office’s (GPO) Federal Digital System (FDsys) has achieved the milestone of one billion document retrievals. FDsys is a one-stop site for authentic, published information on the three branches of the Federal Government. FDsys offers free public access to nearly one million searchable titles, and that number continues to grow every day.
The Laurens County Library will host a reception on Sunday, December 7, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. to introduce an exciting new book, Discovering Laurens County, SC. Volume One: From Pre-history through the Colonial Period.
The South Carolina Digital State Documents Depository provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions. These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state.
