EyeNote™ App to Help the Blind and Visually Impaired Denominate US Currency

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has developed a free downloadable application (app) to assist people who are visually impaired identify the denomination of US currency. The app is called EyeNote™, a mobile device app designed for Apple iPhone (3G, 3Gs, 4), and the 4th Generation iPod Touch and iPad2 platforms, and is available through the Apple iTunes App Store.

Del Webb Library Announced Winner of Teen Video Challenge

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) recently announced the winners of the You Are Here Teen Video Challenge 2011. The Teen Video Challenge is a national competition for teens to get involved with reading and their public library's summer reading program. Winning videos were selected at the state level to be recognized as an official You Are Here Teen Video Challenge winner for 2011.

2011 National Library Week Photo Contest Winners Announced

The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the winners of the Fifth Annual National Library Week 'Day in the Life of South Carolina Libraries' photo contest. During the days of April 10-16, South Carolina library staff members submitted a wide range of photographs of librarians working, teaching patrons, library events, and in some cases, just having fun doing what they love.
