STATE LIBRARY NOW OFFERING INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS AND INFORMATION VIA TEACHERTUBE

TeacherTube officially launched on March 6, 2007 with the goal to provide an online community for sharing instructional videos. TeacherTube seeks to fill a need for a more educationally focused, safe venue for teachers, schools, and home learners. It is a site to provide anytime, anywhere professional development with teachers teaching teachers. As well, it is a site where teachers can post videos designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill.

DAY IN THE LIFE OF SOUTH CAROLINA LIBRARIES 

The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the winners of the 2nd Annual National Library Week Day in the Life of South Carolina Libraries photo contest. During the days of April 14-16, South Carolina library staff members submitted a wide range of photographs of librarians working, teaching patrons, library events, and in some cases, just having fun doing what they love.

Americans are acting on their conviction that school library media centers are a key element in delivering the kind of education the next generation needs in order to succeed in a global society, and public libraries are redoubling their efforts to serve linguistically isolated communities.

More Nursing and Health Resources for State Employees

More bibliographic resources in nursing, medicine and health have been added to the online databases for state employees.  Using your card number you can access these databases from work or home.  The databases increase the quality and quantity of fulltext information for employees who need medical and health information beyond the consumer level.
