Williams who is well known for his documentation of many important events of the Civil Rights Movement that took place in South Carolina. Mr. Williams will discuss his book Unforgettable: 1950-1970: celebrating a time of life hope and bravery that is the inspiration for the Unforgettable traveling exhibit currently on display at the Sumter County Museum.

Nominate your South Carolina State Government agency's best publication for a 2020 Notable State Documents Award! As we begin planning for this year's program, we’d like to remind state agencies to please submit nominations by December 31, 2020.

The Notable State Documents Awards Program recognizes outstanding state publications produced during the calendar year. Categories include physical or digital monographs (individual publications), serials, and websites. Nominations received will be reviewed and final candidates will be selected for judging. 

We invite all South Carolina students in grades 3rd through 12th to write a poem using the theme: "What Inspires You?"

These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state.

Managed by Caroline Smith, the Library's Inclusive Services Consultant, the guide has information and resources on racial equity, accessibility, new Americans, LGBTQ+, collection development, the Library's Inclusive Cervices Center, and the supplemental podcast, BibliObservatory.
