Join us on Wednesday, October 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for this free hands-on class to find reliable resources for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The resources will range from websites for consumer health materials to research sites with statistics on diseases, risks, morbidity and mortality, both on a national level and county level in South Carolina.

The South Carolina State Library provides The Small Business Reference Center, an online resource that offers users a collection of state-specific resources supported with demographic data and other local information.

The Sumter County Library will present The Big Read throughout the month of October 2013. The Big Read will focus on The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.

The library invites everyone throughout Sumter County to participate in The Big Read by picking up a free copy at all Sumter County Library locations, including the Bookmobile; Adult Education, Patriot Hall and the Sumter Shepherd Center.
