The South Carolina Digital State Documents Depository provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions. These publications provide citizens with crucial information about state government, including statistics, annual accountability reports, and data on a wide variety of topics related to the state.

The South Carolina State Library is participating in a national effort to make the DISABILITY VOTE more influential. This effort, known as the REV UP Campaign, has designated July 17-21, 2017 as National Disability Voter Registration Week in advance of the November elections. REV UP stands for Register! Educate! Vote! Use your Power!

The production is an hour-long composite play based on the accounts of South Carolina residents who experienced the flood of 2015 firsthand.

SC Humanities is pleased to announce a special South Carolina tour of Crossroads: Change in Rural America, an exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution. Developed as part of the Museum on Main Street (MOMS) program, this exhibit is designed especially for small cultural organizations and rural audiences that lack regular access to traveling exhibitions due to space and cost limitations.

Dr. Curtis Rogers discusses art, writing, history, and libraries with award-winning illustrator Sophie Blackall and award-winning author Rita Williams-Garcia at the 2017 StoryfestSC held in Columbia on Saturday, June 3. Blackall’s editorial illustrations have appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Architectural Digest, Town and Country, Vogue, and Gourmet.

We're looking for local talent for our 2017 Performer Showcase, which will be held at the Richland Library Sandhills Branch on Friday, October 27 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. All performers must complete the 2017 Performer Showcase Application by September 5 to be considered.

At 2:41 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, viewers in the greater Columbia, S.C., area will experience the longest total solar eclipse on the East Coast. NASA estimates that South Carolina could see an influx of up to 1 million visitors to witness the first total solar eclipse to make a path all the way across the continental U.S. in 99 years. Columbia is the third largest city in the U.S.
